As we age the need becomes more because the oxygen supply decreases in the body.

If you are training hard you will find that your body requires more sleep. On the days you don't train you might only need 5-6 hours of sleep. It depends on how much repair is needed. Some people can sleep only a few hours a night. As long as you go into a deep delta wave sleep and the body is able to repair itself the length of sleep doesn't matter as much. If you can train yourself to do power naps once a day after intense training you can release growth factors and help the recovery process. You must be in complete relaxation to allow the body to get into the deep delta waves. With practice, power naps can last from 5-15 minutes.

The bottom line is if you can sleep sound without disruption and feel that you are recovered upon waking then the amount of sleep you are getting is adequate.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18425955409622644362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2187132661773152292.post-17442926973724362192010-04-13T08:50:58.049-07:002010-04-13T08:50:58.049-07:00How many hours of sleep are recommended for my age...How many hours of sleep are recommended for my age of 45 and does the amount of sleep needed vary at different age groups?Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16824297517662676331noreply@blogger.com
